Elaine Equi
 |
Born in Oak Park, Illinois, she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Columbia College of Chicago. Her published books of poetry include Surface Tension, Decoy, Voice-Over (San Francisco State Poetry Award 1989), and, most recently, The Cloud of Knowable Things (Coffee House Press, 2003). Her work has been widely anthologized and appears in The Best American Poetry for the years 1989, 1995, and 2002 and in A Norton Anthology of Postmodern American Poetry. She was recently a senior editor of Conjunctions magazine. She also teaches at New York University and in the graduate writing program of the City University of New York.
