Since 1931, The New School has been a vital center for writing and the instruction of writing. Since 1996, The New School has offered a graduate Writing Program leading to the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree with concentrations in fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and writing for children.

Prospective MFA candidates are invited to contact the Office of Admissions to discuss their educational needs and interests.

The New School also offers an extensive program of adult education writing courses. For more information on these classes go to the course listing in the New School website.
